A Somali born Dutch Journalist, Speaker and Performer. He is passionate about social justice and freedom of the expression. He got his first journalistic gig from radio Shebelle, served as the radio’s reporter for the daily events in the city and later became a program producer.
His profession as a journalist became a very dangerous job. He briefly moved to Nairobi and became the radio’s chief editor of the news and program producer for Frontier FM. He was working back and forth between Somalia and Kenya. When the threats against him become more concrete, he fled Somalia and asked asylum in the Netherlands at the beginning of 2009.
In 2016, he became an editor for the Dutch public broadcaster NTR. He covered many topics regarding immigration and refugees for the NTR. He also covered his personal journey towards the National election on 15 March 2017. His coverage of the general election got its own coverage by the local national newspaper Het Parool, as well as many regional publications.
