Hélène Christelle Munganyende

Fled from Rwanda to the Netherlands with her family when she was 5 years old. She studied Political Science at the Liberal University of Brussels and founded the women of colour collective IamSHERO, an organization that actively engages in supporting young women of colour navigate their career paths. Hélène has been named as one of her generation’s promising Dutch feminist voices and was selected amongst upcoming Dutch literary talent in the recently published anthology ZWART: a collection of prose from African writers in the Netherlands and Belgium. Hélène is currently working on her debut novel, her writing focalizing on the African diaspora and celebrating everyday heroines of colour.
