Dr. Abaker Adam Ismail

A Sudanese thinker born in 1965 in Al Dalang in Sudan. Graduated from Faculty of
Dentistry of Khartoum University. Abaker is known as one of the famous Sudanese
thinkers and writers who their ideas have an important influence on the new
generation of the Sudanese political and social activists. Abaker has a numerous
thought contributions in framing the idea of ‘ The New Sudan’ which is a
comprehensive political, cultural, social and economical project represented as
alternative for the existing old Sudan that associates with mismanagement,
dictatorship and discrimination that caused armed conflicts and civil war resulted in
the killing of more than two million and half of the Sudanese in addition other six
millions injured/disabled and displaced.

Abaker also is the founder of ‘the Argumentative of the Centre and the Margin’
which he developed during the last two decades, his argumentative aims to explain
the relation between the centre and the margin by using the cultural analytical
framework. Abaker has also written 3 novels “The Road to Impossible Cities”‘, “The
Other” and “Dreams in the Sun Land”. This beside a number of poetic poems,
short stories and thought papers issued in different newspapers and on the internet.
