Countering Oppression in Sudan: Free

This event will discuss issues surrounding Freedom of Expression in Sudan. Sudan is one of the most brutal dictatorships in Africa at this moment.

It is a country, which has many spots of violent conflict and war. Human Rights records remain appalling with attacks on civilians by government forces, alongside repression of civil society groups, independent media and widespread arbitrary detentions of activists, students and protestors.

It is therefore increasingly important to discuss the freedom of expression within such a country.

The panel will consist of Ahmed Hussein Adam, Abakar Adam Ismael, Mustafa Adam, Fathi Aldaw, Mohammed Hassan and Alwalid Adam Musa and will be moderated by Shahd Elmelik
